Who can take part

  • Aged 4 to 15 years old
  • Having an asthma attack that needs steroid medicine in the Emergency Department
  • No steroid medicine (by mouth or IV) in the last 2 weeks
  • Not allergic to the study drug
  • No noisy breathing (stridor) or life-threatening asthma attack
  • Not having their first wheezing episode (must have been diagnosed with asthma before)
