Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed ACL tear in your knee.
  • You are between 18 and 50 years old.
  • Your other major knee ligaments (PCL and collaterals) are not torn.
  • You have at least one of these: age under 25, a positive pivot-shift test, a Segond fracture, play sports with lots of cutting, or joint hypermobility.
  • You have not had ACL surgery on the same knee before, and your surgeon can use a graft from your semitendinosus tendon that is at least 7.5 mm thick.
