Who can take part

  • You are between 14 and 24 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes before age 18, and had it for less than 10 years.
  • Your HbA1c (average blood sugar over 3 months) is less than 10%.
  • Your blood pressure is below 130/80, or you're on a stable blood pressure medication for at least a month.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is under 40.
  • You are not pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, and have no allergy to aspirin or shellfish.
  • You are not currently using inhaled or steroid medications for asthma or other conditions.
