- You are 19 years old or older.
- You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) receiving medicine for shock.
- You had a high enough dose of shock medicine (a score of 12 or more on the vasopressor-inotropic scale).
- Your need for shock medicine has started to go down (current score of 12 or less).
- You have a central vein catheter for feeding through the vein.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
