Who can take part
- Be age 18 or older
- Be in the ICU and need blood-pressure support medicines through a central venous catheter (central line)
- Have shock, such as low blood pressure that hasn’t improved after fluids (or special fluid/pressure situations with signs of poor organ blood flow)
- Not be in full cardiopulmonary arrest (when the heart and breathing stop)
- Not be pregnant
- Not have severe right-side heart failure
