- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a long-lasting infection at the tip of a tooth root that has also caused a deep gum pocket reaching the root tip.
- The tooth does not respond to cold or electric pulp tests (meaning the nerve is dead).
- You do NOT have a crack or hole in the tooth root.
- You are generally healthy (not ASA II or higher, meaning no serious health problems like uncontrolled diabetes or heart disease).
- You do not smoke.
