Bone graft and blood concentrate for tooth infection healing

This trial tests whether using a bone graft (allograft) together with your own blood concentrate (iPRF) and a collagen membrane helps heal the bone and gum around a tooth with a long-standing infection. It might be a good option if you have a tooth that keeps getting infected despite a root canal and has a deep pocket on the cheek side.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and in good general health (no serious medical conditions that would make surgery risky).
  • You have a tooth with a long-standing infection that keeps coming back even after a root canal, and a deep gum pocket (more than 6 mm) on the cheek side of that tooth.
  • X-rays show that the bone on the cheek side of the tooth is missing (a 'hole' in the bone).
  • The tooth does not have a crack, does not have gum disease throughout the mouth, and has a good filling or crown that seals it completely.
  • You are not pregnant and do not smoke.
