Who can take part

  • Age 50 to 80 years old
  • You have the dry form of AMD with a large area of damage (bigger than a pinhead) in the center of your macula, or you had wet AMD that has now become stable with scar tissue
  • Vision in the study eye is very low – you can read between 5 and 34 letters on an eye chart (roughly 20/800 to 20/2000 vision)
  • If both eyes are eligible, the worse-seeing eye will be used (or the right eye if they are equal)
  • You have not had any eye surgery, laser, or anti-VEGF injections in the study eye in the past 3 months
