Who can take part

  • Born between 24 weeks and 32 weeks plus 6 days of pregnancy
  • Now between 1 week and 6 weeks old
  • Weigh at least 2.2 pounds (1000 grams) at the start of the study
  • Currently on CPAP breathing support with pressure between 5-8 cm H2O
  • Needing no more than 60% extra oxygen (FiO2 ≤ 0.60)
  • No major birth defects, chromosome problems, or a history of a collapsed lung
