Who can take part

  • You have a current diagnosis of OCD (based on a standard interview).
  • Your OCD symptoms are at least moderate (score of 16 or more on the Y-BOCS scale).
  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You can speak, read, and write in English well enough to complete study tasks.
  • If you are on psychiatric medication or in therapy, your treatment has not changed in the past 6 weeks.
  • You do not have any active substance abuse, significant past mania or psychosis, or active suicidal thoughts.
  • You do not have a seizure disorder, metal implants near the head, or any other condition that makes TMS (brain stimulation) unsafe.
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study.
