Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have a type of bile duct cancer inside the liver that cannot be removed with surgery or has spread.
  • Your liver function must be fairly good (Child-Pugh class A or borderline B).
  • You must not have had previous chemotherapy for advanced disease (prior treatment after surgery is allowed if it was over 6 months ago).
  • You must be generally active and able to take care of yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1).
  • You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
