This study looks at whether blood tests and MRI scans can predict how well ECP (a blood-filtering treatment) works for people with CLAD after a lung transplant. If you’ve been prescribed ECP for CLAD and haven’t had it before, you may be able to help researchers find better ways to tailor treatment.

Who can take part

  • You are at least 7 years old and have had a lung transplant (one or both lungs).
  • You have been diagnosed with CLAD (a chronic condition that affects transplanted lungs) and your doctor has prescribed ECP treatment.
  • You have not received ECP before.
  • You have not received certain immune-suppressing drugs (anti-thymocyte globulin within 3 months or alemtuzumab within 12 months).
  • If taking part in the MRI part of the study, you have no metal implants, claustrophobia, or seizure disorder, and no allergy to gadolinium or severe kidney problems.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
