Who can take part
- You weigh between 40 and 70 kilograms (about 88 to 154 pounds).
- You are classified as ASA III, meaning you have a serious but stable health condition.
- You are having heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine (called cardiopulmonary bypass).
- You do not have a history of drug allergy, asthma, kidney or liver problems, or severe obesity.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have a condition that makes placing a breathing tube difficult.
