Who can take part
- You have symptomatic thumb base (trapeziometacarpal) osteoarthritis causing wrist pain that is at least 40 out of 100 on a pain scale.
- You have tried medical treatments (like medications, therapy) for more than 3 months without improvement, and surgery is being considered.
- Your thumb joint osteoarthritis is classified as Stage I or II on X-rays (early stage).
- You do not have arthritis in other hand joints that would need surgery, or thumb arthritis caused by an inflammatory disease like rheumatoid arthritis.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
