This study looks at joint fluid and tissue samples from people with thumb base osteoarthritis who are already scheduled for a surgery called trapeziectomy. The goal is to find markers that might help better understand the disease and improve treatment.

Who can take part
- You are 25 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the thumb joint near the base of your thumb, confirmed by X-rays, and your doctor plans to remove the small bone there (trapeziectomy).
- You have not had previous surgery on that same thumb joint.
- You do not have any other type of arthritis (like rheumatoid arthritis, gout, or psoriatic arthritis).
- You have not had steroid, platelet-rich plasma, or hyaluronic acid injections in that thumb joint in the last 3 months.
