Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have been diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (the tumor has grown into the muscle layer of the bladder).
- The cancer has not spread to other parts of the body (stages T2–T4a, N0–N1, M0).
- You are healthy enough for surgery to remove your bladder (radical cystectomy) and your surgeon plans to do that surgery.
- Your overall physical condition is good (able to do daily activities with some help, but not bedridden).
- You have not had other cancers in the past 5 years, unless they are completely cured and need no further treatment.
