Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have a blood disease that requires a stem cell transplant.
  • Your doctor expects your platelet count to stay very low (10 or lower) for at least 5 days after transplant.
  • You have normal blood clotting function, good liver, kidney, and heart function.
  • You do not have active bleeding, infection, or a bleeding disorder.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you agree to use effective birth control if you can become pregnant.
