Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have advanced head and neck squamous cell cancer (stage III to IVB) that has not been treated before.
  • You are in fairly good health (able to do daily activities without major help).
  • You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
  • You have adequate blood counts and liver/kidney function.
  • You are not pregnant, and will use effective birth control during and after the study.
