Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (a type of cancer) in your head or neck that has returned or spread to other parts of your body
- You have already received at least one previous treatment (chemotherapy or other systemic therapy) for your recurrent or metastatic cancer
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You are in reasonably good health overall (ECOG performance status 0–2, meaning you can carry out most normal daily activities)
- Your doctor can see at least one measurable tumor on imaging scans
- Your blood counts, liver function, and kidney function are adequate; your thyroid hormones are normal or controlled by medication
