Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You are having or had a complex heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine, such as bypass surgery combined with a valve replacement, replacing two or more valves, a repeat heart surgery, surgery for a heart infection, or surgery on the main artery (ascending aorta).
- Your surgery was scheduled or an emergency, and took place between January 2016 and December 2024.
- Your complete medical records (like transfusions, hospital stay, and test results) are available.
- You are not pregnant and do not need a special heart-lung support machine (ECMO) after surgery.
