Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and have been on regular hemodialysis for at least 3 months.
  • You have not taken any probiotic supplements (like probiotic drinks, pills, or powders) in the last month.
  • You have not been hospitalized in the past month for an infection or a kidney-related problem.
  • You have not had major stomach or intestinal surgery (except appendix removal).
  • You do not have active hepatitis, cirrhosis, cancer, severe heart failure, or thyroid disease.
  • You have not taken antibiotics or immune-suppressing drugs in the last 3 months.
