Who can take part
- You have stomach cancer (adenocarcinoma) or cancer at the junction of the stomach and esophagus (Siewert types II or III).
- Your cancer is stage T3-4aN+M0, meaning it has grown into or through the stomach wall and spread to nearby lymph nodes but not to distant organs, and your doctor believes it can be removed with surgery.
- You have not had any cancer treatments before, such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy.
- You are able to swallow pills.
- You are in good enough health to have a performance status of 0 or 1 (able to carry out all normal activities without restriction or able to carry out light work).
- You plan to have surgery after the treatment period.
