Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You are scheduled for endoscopic skull base surgery through the nose, where there is a risk of a cerebrospinal fluid leak (the fluid that surrounds the brain).
- Before surgery, you are alert and can move your arms and legs normally, and you can follow instructions for bed rest or not being on bed rest after surgery.
- You do not have serious heart or lung problems, or other health issues that would make surgery or anesthesia unsafe.
- You have not had complications from bed rest in the past, such as pneumonia, blood clots in the legs, or bedsores.
