Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have a type of rectal cancer called adenocarcinoma that is mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) or microsatellite stable (MSS).
  • Your cancer is in the middle or lower part of the rectum (within 10 cm of the anus) and considered high-risk, meaning it has certain features like being stage T4 or involving nearby structures.
  • You have not had any previous treatment for this rectal cancer, such as surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.
  • You are in generally good health (ECOG performance status 0 or 1) and have adequate organ function, as determined by blood tests.
