Who can take part

  • You must have a shunt in your brain that drains fluid (a CSF shunt).
  • The shunt must be easy to feel through the skin, and the skin over it must be healthy (no cuts, swelling, or rashes).
  • You or your guardian must agree to be in the study by signing a consent form.
  • For some parts of the study, your shunt must have a programmable setting called 'virtual off' that can be changed without surgery.
  • You cannot have more than one shunt tube in the area where the device will be placed.
  • You should not have had serious skin reactions to sticky bandages or adhesives in the past.
