Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (a type of esophageal cancer) that is advanced, has come back, or has spread, and cannot be cured with standard treatments.
- You have not received any cancer treatment for this disease before (except if you had chemotherapy or radiation as part of initial treatment and your cancer returned more than 6 months after the last dose).
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
- You are in good enough health to perform daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1) and expected to live at least 12 weeks.
