Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilation) due to a recent heart stoppage or because your heart can't pump enough blood
- You had a blood test within 4 hours of being admitted to the special heart unit
- Your medical record includes your height and weight
- You were not first stabilized at another hospital or had your ventilator settings changed before your first blood test
