Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are in the cardiac intensive care unit and need a breathing machine (ventilator) for more than 12 hours.
  • You have one of these heart problems: cardiogenic shock, need for a heart pump, weak heart muscle (ejection fraction below 40%), poor right heart function, or high blood pressure in the lungs.
