This study tests whether a motorized (powered) prosthetic knee and ankle can help people with above-knee amputations walk better. If you already use a mechanical or microprocessor-controlled leg, you may be able to try a new powered version.

Who can take part

  • You have an amputation above the knee
  • You are 18 years old or older
  • Your amputation happened at least 1 year ago
  • You have been using your current prosthetic leg for at least 6 months
  • You can walk with your current leg (even if you need help sometimes) and are not using a wheelchair full-time
  • You weigh 350 pounds or less
