Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 22 and 35.
- Your HbA1c (average blood sugar over 3 months) is between 7.0% and 10.5%.
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 3 months.
- You have been taking at least 1000 mg of metformin daily (or 1500 mg if you can tolerate it) for at least 3 months.
- You have not had certain stomach surgeries (like gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy).
