Who can take part

  • You have prostate cancer that has spread to 10 or fewer spots (in bones or lymph nodes outside the pelvis) and not to your organs.
  • You are about to start or have just started (within the last 4 weeks) hormone therapy that lowers testosterone.
  • Your overall health is good enough for surgery and radiation, with no major heart, lung, bleeding, or bone marrow problems.
  • You have not had any prior prostate cancer treatment except hormone therapy that started within the last 4 weeks.
  • Your kidney, liver, and blood cell counts meet basic safety levels.
