Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 65 years old.
- You were admitted to the hospital within 24 hours of an injury.
- Your injury severity score (ISS) is greater than 15, meaning you have severe injuries.
- You do not have known heart failure, chronic kidney disease, or chronic lung disease needing oxygen or a ventilator at home.
- A CT scan of your kidneys does not show damage that would make the ultrasound hard to read.
