Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 1 month and 18 years old.
  • Your child must be critically ill (in the ICU or needing intensive care).
  • Your child must have sepsis (a severe infection affecting the whole body).
  • Your child must not have any heart disease they were born with (congenital).
  • Your child must not have acquired heart disease (like rheumatic fever, myocarditis, or cardiomyopathy).
  • Your child must not have had heart surgery.
