Who can take part

  • You must have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or pulmonary fibrosis (scarring of the lungs).
  • You may also have pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) or pulmonary arterial hypertension (a related condition).
  • You are either waiting for a lung transplant or being treated as an outpatient (not staying in the hospital).
  • You must not have other lung diseases besides COPD or pulmonary fibrosis.
  • You cannot currently have an active infection like pneumonia, tuberculosis, or fluid buildup around the lungs (pleural effusion).
