Who can take part

  • You must have a type of AML with an IDH1 gene mutation.
  • You must be 60 or older, or be 18 to 59 with health issues that make intensive chemotherapy too risky.
  • You must be able to do daily activities (ECOG performance status 0–2 if 60+, or 0–3 if 18–60).
  • Your kidneys and liver must work well enough (creatinine clearance at least 25 mL/min, certain liver enzyme levels within limits).
  • You cannot have had prior treatment for AML (except hydroxyurea to lower white blood cells).
