Blue dye sentinel node mapping for early ovarian cancer

This study is testing a blue dye called Patent Blue to see if it can help surgeons find sentinel lymph nodes (the first nodes cancer might spread to) during surgery for early-stage ovarian cancer. The goal is to reduce the need for more extensive lymph node removal, possibly leading to fewer side effects.

18 years and older

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have a new diagnosis of suspected ovarian cancer based on MRI (O-RADS 4 or 5), which is early stage (stage I or II) on scans
  • You are scheduled for a complete surgical staging procedure that includes removal of lymph nodes in the pelvis and around the aorta
  • Your scans do not show any suspicious enlarged lymph nodes (≥1 cm) or spread of cancer beyond the pelvis
  • You have not had previous lymph node removal, major abdominal vascular surgery, or pelvic/abdominal radiation
  • You are not allergic to patent blue dye
