Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have rectal cancer that is locally advanced and has spread to nearby lymph nodes (stage T3-4N+).
- Your tumor is within 5 cm of the anus and you want to try to avoid permanent colostomy, or your MRI shows high-risk features.
- Your cancer cells test positive for HER2 (score 1+, 2+, or 3+ on IHC test).
- You have not had any prior treatment for this cancer (like chemo, radiation, or immunotherapy).
- Your overall health is good (ECOG score 0 or 1) and your major organs (blood counts, liver, kidneys, heart) are working well.
