Who can take part
- You must have been diagnosed with PML (a brain infection caused by the JC virus) and the diagnosis must be confirmed by a spinal tap.
- You must be 18 years old or older.
- You must be stable enough to travel to the NIH (National Institutes of Health).
- If you could become pregnant or father a child, you must be willing to use birth control (including abstinence) during the study.
- You cannot have severe liver or kidney problems, and you must not be allergic to the study drug (brincidofovir) or similar medicines.
- You cannot have other significant brain conditions that might interfere with the study, and you must be able to have MRI scans (no metal implants) and a spinal tap.
