Testing how the brain absorbs anti–CD8 therapy in nervous system disease

It may help researchers understand how to deliver similar treatments for multiple sclerosis, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), or other brain inflammation when the brain’s protective barrier is “open.”

Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to consent in writing
  • You must be enrolled in the NINDS natural history study for MS, PML, or the PML/MS-adjacent matching track the clinic uses
  • You must be willing to follow all study visits for the full study period
  • If you are being screened for “open brain barrier” inflammation, you need a recent MRI (within 1 month) showing gadolinium-enhancing areas
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You must be able to have MRI with contrast (gadolinium) and fit in the scanner (weight limit 350 lb / 158 kg)
