- Child is in group 7 (Year 6 equivalent) at a Dutch primary school
- Parent or guardian provides written permission for the child to participate
- Child can read and write Dutch
- Parent or guardian can read and write Dutch
- School has not already taught the HoorToren program in group 6 the previous year
