Stem cell treatment via inhaler for lung fibrosis

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)

This trial tests a new inhaled treatment made from placental stem cells to see if it's safe and helps slow scarring in the lungs (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis). The treatment is breathed in through a nebulizer, similar to an asthma inhaler.

Who can take part

  • Age 18–75 years old
  • Confirmed diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring disease)
  • Lung function in a specific range: forced vital capacity 50–80% of normal, and DLCO 30–80% of normal
  • On a stable dose of lung-protecting medication (nintedanib, pirfenidone, or nerandomilast) for at least 8 weeks
  • Able to walk more than 150 meters in 6 minutes without stopping
  • Willing to use contraception for 12 months after treatment if you can become pregnant
