New Dyes to Find Lymph Nodes in Head/Neck Cancer

Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Have squamous cell carcinoma (SCC, a type of skin cancer) in the mouth or head/neck skin with 1–2 affected lymph nodes
  • Cancer is operable (can be safely removed with surgery)
  • This is your first head/neck cancer diagnosis (or you had pre-surgery chemotherapy/radiation)
  • Healthy enough for surgery (ECOG performance status 0–2, meaning you can do light to moderate activities)
  • No allergies to the dyes or iodine, normal thyroid and kidney function, not on beta-blockers, not pregnant/breastfeeding
