This study tests whether a new drug called HSK44459 can slow lung scarring (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or IPF) and improve your ability to breathe. You'll receive either the drug or a placebo while your lung function is monitored over time.

Who can take part
- Age 40 or older
- Confirmed diagnosis of IPF (lung scarring)
- Lung function tests showing FVC ≥45% and DLCO between 25–90% at screening
- Either never treated with nintedanib/pirfenidone, or stable on one of these drugs for ≥12 weeks
- No recent lung infection, heart problems, liver or kidney disease, or active hepatitis/HIV
- Able to stop tobacco and certain other medications during the study
