- Your baby is 28 days old or younger and in the hospital's intensive care unit for newborns
- Your baby shows signs of a possible heart problem, like blue-tinged skin, an unusual heart sound, fast breathing, or breathing trouble
- Your baby's oxygen level in the blood is lower than normal (below 95% when breathing regular air)
- Your baby had an ultrasound before birth that showed a possible heart abnormality
