Who can take part
- You are 19 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with dyslipidemia (abnormally high cholesterol or triglycerides) and metabolic syndrome
- You either haven't taken cholesterol-lowering medications in the past 4 weeks, or you've taken the same dose for 8 weeks without good results
- Your LDL cholesterol ('bad' cholesterol) level meets certain thresholds based on your heart disease risk, or your doctor believes you should try this medication
- You are willing and able to provide written consent to join the study
- You have no medical conditions that would make this medication unsafe for you
