Comparing Two Antibiotic Combinations for Drug-Resistant Infections

This study tests two different pairs of strong antibiotics to see which works better at clearing hard-to-treat bacterial infections that don't respond to standard drugs. You would receive one of these two combinations and be monitored for how well it works and any side effects.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old
  • You have a confirmed bacterial infection that is resistant to multiple antibiotics (confirmed by lab culture)
  • You have not had a serious allergic reaction to any of the four antibiotics being studied (meropenem, colistin, imipenem/cilastatin, or tigecycline)
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have not had recent seizures or other serious brain/nervous system events
