Who can take part

  • You are an adult over 18 years old
  • You have a serious infection in the blood (bacteremia) or pneumonia from a hospital or breathing machine (HAP/VAP)
  • The infection is caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, confirmed in lab tests
  • The germ must be likely to respond to cefiderocol based on test results (an MIC less than 2, or a disc test result at least 17 mm)
  • You have not already had more than 72 hours of antibiotics that would cover this resistant germ in the first 96 hours after enrolling
  • You are not pregnant, and you can give consent (including delayed/deferred consent if allowed locally)
