Who can take part

  • You are 21 years old or older.
  • You have signs and symptoms of sepsis (a severe response to infection).
  • You have a positive culture showing an infection with carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (a bacteria that is hard to treat).
  • You have not already been treated with sulbactam-based antibiotics for this infection.
  • You do not have a known allergy to ampicillin/sulbactam or cefoperazone/sulbactam.
