Radioembolization vs. External Radiation for Liver Cancer

Who can take part

  • You have hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) with no more than 3 tumors that your doctor thinks can be treated with one of these two radiation methods
  • You have not had radioembolization or external radiation therapy to these same tumors before
  • Your liver function is relatively stable (bilirubin under 4.0 mg/dL and albumin above 2 g/dL)
  • Your general health status allows you to tolerate cancer treatment (ECOG score of 2 or better)
  • You do not have cancer that has spread into major blood vessels in your liver (macrovascular invasion)
  • You are willing to undergo imaging and follow-up visits as required by the study
