  • You have a major injury (such as from a car accident, fall, or trauma) with an injury severity score above 15
  • Your systolic blood pressure is below 90 mmHg (dangerously low) when you arrive at the hospital
  • You are 16 years old or older
  • You have not received hospital care before this emergency
  • You do not have a brain injury, serious burn, drowning, or pregnancy
